Today I got my sample 5 pack of Nescafe’s Taster’s Choice coffee and Garneir Moisture Rescue cream. ($1 off coupon included with both samples) Funny thing is, I got a second sample/coupon of Garneir. It was in the June issue of Allure magazine. 😛

I’ve already posted on coupon fraud, but I can’t stress enough how important it is to to informed on this issue. Via the CIC website:
Counterfeit coupons have cost manufacturers millions of dollars and have created numerous costs and challenges for retailers and other industry participants. These counterfeits have ranged from amateurish home-made “coupons” to high quality, professional examples virtually identical to those printed by the industry. Unfortunately, even the amateurish coupons are often accepted for redemption, creating liabilities for a variety of industry participants. Once a counterfeit is accepted, someone, whether it is a manufacturer or a retailer, is going to have to pay for it, creating uncontrollable liabilities and unnecessary trade relations issues.
How can you spot a fake coupon?
Here are a few things keep in mind:
Always follow the words on the coupon. If it says 10oz box, use it for a 10oz. Sure it may scan, but it’s fraudulent use of the coupon.
Don’t use expired coupons UNLESS your store approves it.
NEVER ever copy, scan, or fax a printable coupon in anyway. There are many security features built into these coupons (that’s why they require you to download a special program in order to print). Sure it may still scan at the store, but they will not get reimbursed for it.
Penalties for those convicted of coupon fraud related crimes vary by each case and the number of laws violated.
As of this date,
Longest prison sentence: 17 years
Highest financial penalty: $5 million
Prison sentences of three to five years are not uncommon. Financial penalties generally vary, but have often been in excess of $200,000.
Listen to your gut. If it seems to good to be true, it probably is. If you have any questions about the coupon, just don’t use it.

I popped into Albertsons today and was pleasantly surprised to find this coupon book. I’ve seen many people post about it on Facebook, but didn’t think I’d find it here in Missoula. SURPRISE! It was on a stand to my left as I walked in the front door.
This little gem was found in a small circular bin as you start down the pet products isle.The expiration dates range from May ~ July and total $19

Starting this Sunday, May 22 2011, CVS Pharmacy is running a promotion that will reward shoppers with free gas cards.I found this information on their website.
Fill Up the Cart, Fill Up the Tank
Participation is easy. Customers can find the qualifying products on the front and back pages of the weekly CVS/pharmacy circular beginning May 22, accessible in-store, online at http://www.cvs.com/ and on Facebook at http://www.facebook.com/CVS. All qualifying products will be tagged with a “get free gas” icon to make them easily identifiable. Eligible products will rotate each week, giving shoppers greater flexibility to fill their carts with the essentials they shop for each week.
Once ExtraCare customers reach the $30 required purchase threshold, a special coupon will print on their receipt that can be redeemed immediately in store for a $10 gas card. If customers prefer to wait to redeem their coupon they have up to 30 days to do so. Limit one redemption per week for each ExtraCare cardholder.
Now that I’ve been couponing I’ve starting shopping at CVS more. They have great deals and this new promotion sprinkles a little more sugar on top!
