Over the last few weeks my local Safeway has been promoting a new program called Just4U. I saw it on their website before, but was never able to access it until now. Montana is usually one of the last to hear about new things or experience programs that everyone else has. (Yes we have electricity.) In case you haven’t heard of it, here’s the scoop..
The program boasts that the savings offered are personalized, meaning you’re getting deals that not everyone else is getting. Many of the deals are tailored to your shopping history. This is all done by linking your existing club card to their new program (must be linked to an actual name and current mailing address). You may have to fill out this form to get your Club Card updated. If you don’t have a Club Card, you’ll need to fill out an application at your local store. Some people have problems getting their Club Card working, so you may have to contact Safeway’s customer service by phone to get everything straightened out.
Once you have your card click the “Personalized Deals” section on their website. Here you will see probably two pages of prices that are “Just4U.” They are all lower than Safeway’s regular prices. Some are based on what you’ve purchased in the past and some are certainly there to entice you into purchasing certain products you normally don’t buy there. Start adding the deals you like buy clicking the red “add” button. When you’re done (I like this part) you can print out your shopping list!
Here are some other details on the Personalized Deals:
- New Personalized Deals will load each Wednesday morning, so be sure to check Safeway.com each week for new offers.
- You can use a manufacturer’s coupon (and a double coupon in Oregon and SW Washington) on a Personalized Deals item.
- It can take up to 30 minutes for a Personalized Deal to load to your Club Card, so you may want to double-check deals that you load while in the store on your smart phone.
- You are not required to purchase an item just because it’s loaded to your Club Card, so there’s no reason to be conservative with your loading.
- You cannot remove a deal once it’s loaded to your Club Card (Why would you want to?).
