Sunday papers and online sites are the best places to get coupons, but don’t overlook these 5 other options to get even more savings.
1. The Deli Counter: The next time you are at the deli counter, look for manufacturer coupons. Often there’s a wide selection of coupons for at least $1.00 off meats and cheeses, sometimes even produce. At a recent trip to Albertsons I found:
- $1.00 off any ½ pound of Sara Lee deli meat.
- $1.00 off ½ pound of Land O’ Lakes Swiss cheese.
- $1.00 off produce with the purchase of 2lbs of ground beef.
2. In-Store Samples: More and more, stores are offering samples to introduce new products. A recent trip to Wal Mart scored me:
- $1.00 off coupons to Crystal Light Mocktails.
- $1.00 Wheat Thins new flavors: Spicy Buffalo and Zesty Salsa.
3. Newsletters and Cell Phones: Sign up for the newsletters and texts from your favorite brands, products and drug stores like CVS & Walgreens. Chances are, you’ll receive an exclusive coupon in your inbox or on your smartphone.
4. Your Health Care Provider/Dentist: The next time you visit the doctor or dentist, take a look at their magazine and pamphlet rack. You will be surprised at the many manufacturer coupons and even free product samples laying around. Many of these coupons are high-value with extended expiration dates, and some include 30-day supplies of certain medications. If you are trying a new medication simply ask your Dr. for a coupon. Sales reps not only leave samples, they also leave coupons. I recently started using Abilify. It’s extremely pricey, even with my insurance, but my Dr. gave me a coupon card that offered the first 30 days free and a small co-pay for up to a year thereafter! Here are other coupons I’ve come across…
- $2.00 off ALL sensitive skin laundry detergent.
- $2.00 off Lil’ Critter Vitamins, including free samples for their chewy multivitamin and calcium chews.
- Advil children and adult formulas $3.00 coupon for each.
5. Inside The Products: This might not be a place you’re used to looking. The next time you open a box of cereal, supplements, cleanser, or soda, take a peek inside the packaging and information pamphlets. Many include coupons with extended expiration dates. I ofen find coupons inside meds and tampons.
While there are certainly other sources of obtaining coupons like peelies, blinkies and wine tags, these ‘I had no idea!’ areas can help you save with very little effort.
