Starbucks “Treat Receipt” is back for the Summer.

If you ask anyone who knows me what makes me do the snoopy dance they’ll tell you Starbucks covered kitties! OK maybe not, but they will say Starbucks and/or kitties.

I could drink Caramel Macchiatos and Shaken Ice Tea lemonades all day. That is one reason I coupon (no joke) so I can afford to feed my addiction.

When I found Starbucks was bringing back their “Treat Receipt” for the summer…. *snoopy dance*  Here’s the details.

 

From July 18 through September 5, 2011, customers who make a purchase in the morning can bring in their receipt after 2pm and you can order ANY Grande Cold Beverage (16 fl. oz.) for only $2.00 (plus tax) at participating Starbucks stores in the U.S. and Canada.

Coupon Insert Rant

I’m late in posting a “preview” of LAST Sunday’s coupon inserts. Yesterday was the first day I felt better. Anyway.. I’m still going to post them, because I need input.  I half understand the premise behind regions getting different coupons. I have a Target.  A friend of mine doesn’t have one close by. I understand some values are different. Different regions have different costs of living. What I don’t understand is out of 40 coupons (yes, I counted them) I got 13 from SmartSource. Out of 40 Redplum I got ten.

No pet coupons. (We have pets in Montana) Only a few cereal coupons. (Who doesn’t eat cereal, I mean really?) No L’Oreal coupons. (We must all be bald and faceless) I could go on and on. It’s bad enough this is my second rant on the subject.

Here is the inserts from Sunday. The ones with * by them and that are bold, are the coupons I got. Next to the expiration date I put what the value was on my coupon. (Redplum was the only one that had differences in value.)

Does anyone know if there is a preview of upcoming coupons per region? It’s frustrating when I see the preview and plan on getting X amount of papers only to be crooked.

There is a new program called SavingStar. It’s a new paperless grocery service. No need to print or clip coupons.

I just signed up for it and I’m interested to see how it actually pans out.

There are three easy steps after you create an account.

1.CLICK:  Select the eCoupons you want and they link them to your account.

I already feel limited because I had to put my zip code in. My region gets left out of many c0upons.

 

2.SHOP: Use your loyalty card at checkout.  Your bill remains the same.

3. SAVE: Your money is automatically added to your SavingStar account.  You receive your savings directly from SavingStar when your account obtains a balance of $5 or more.

Once you reach $5 in savings choose your payout options.

  • Direct deposit into your bank account
  • Into your PayPal account
  • An Amazon gift card
  • An American Forests donation

Mobile Coupons Becoming More Popular

Since I first posted about Mobile Coupons more businesses have been  jumping on the mobile coupon bandwagon. While opting in to some of them, I got the brilliant idea of sharing them with you.  😛   Some of these are from my original post so I moved them to the bottom of my list.

Stores that Offer Smart Phone Mobile Coupons or Email Promo Codes:

JCPenney’s Mobile Apps ~  Up to 8 messages a month.

Redbox Text Club ~ Get a free rental code on the first Monday of each month.
Express Red Box Text Club ~ Free a rental code on the first of each month

Target Mobile Coupons ~ Up to 5 mobile coupons a month. (These are often stackable!)
Walgreen’s Mobile ~ Up to 5 mobile coupons a month

Bath & Body Works ~ Up to 4 mobile coupons a month

**Remember ~ Normal text message rates may apply and you may have to use your phone’s data plan to access coupons in store. Not all coupons or apps are available for all types of smart phones. On the flip side, many store coupons are stackable with manufacturer’s coupons which can really pack a punch if you couple those with sale items!

Mobile Coupon and Promo Code App Services:

Yowza Mobile Coupon App ~ This app is available for iPhone, *Andriod and *Blackberry (*through a partner website). The biggest drawback for this service seems to be the lack of coupons available. Also the geo-locator may leave a bit to be desired. On the plus side, this app is FREE! I’m betting as time goes by and mobile coupons are more the norm, this site will offer much more.

Coupon Sherpa ~ The same idea as Yowza.  Not currently available for BlackBerry. BOOOO!

**Note ~ While these apps feature a wide array of stores, their content can be hit or miss. Check out the coupon or code with the store’s customer service BEFORE shopping or be prepared to pay full price. The idea is that they offer you geographically relevant content (the app uses the GPS on your smart phone to determine what stores are in your neighborhood) to a variety of stores. Some are scannable coupons while others have promo codes.

July’s booklet is now out. It started on June 26th and is good until July 30th.  It contains over $275 in savings. They are placed by the weekly sales ad at the front of the store.
