KLUTCHclub ~ September

  • Posted on September 30, 2012 at 9:21 PM

SUPRISE I joined Klutchclub! I bet you didn’t think it would take me this long! 🙂 I don’t know why I waited. I absolutely love my box! There are so many items. That alone makes it worth the price. The cost runs between $16-18/month depending on how you sign up (1 month, 3 month and 12 month subscriptions are available).

September’s box is spa themed. There is over $100 worth of health and wellness products to try out.  Here is what I got.

Soothing music CD from Sequoia Records. ~ “The Celtic Lounge II” These CDs are sought after at spas, healing centers and yoga boutiques everywhere.

Anatomy Naturals Dead Sea Mud Mask ~ 100% natural mask is made from mineral-rich mud from the dead sea. This is an anti-aging formula that hydrates and purifies skin while healing acne and stimulating circulation. I opened it up, sniffed it and threw it away. The smell was putrid! Mac (my cat) wasn’t happy about the smell either! LOL

Lauren Brook Cosmetiques Lip Gloss ~ Winterberry. I really like this. The color is subtle and the texture is velvet soft. This tiny sample will not last long. 🙁  I may buy a full-sized one from the website.

Natural Vitality’s Natural Calm Magnesium Powder. ~ Organic Raspberry-Lemon flavor. NO THANK YOU. It’s a nice sized container.  WHO WANTS IT?

(Can) Zenify ~ The life stress free drink. No info given, but the can says it’s all natural. Has I-theanine that produces serotonin and dopamine levels to promote relaxation and concentration. It also has Gaba, a natural calming agent that enhances relaxation and memory support.  No flavor was listed, but I tasted grapefruit. It was carbonated.

EBOOST Natural Energy Booster Mix (orange packets) Orange flavor that you mix with water for energy.

EcoTrek Fitness Whole Food Bar ~ Chocolate Peanut Butter. Contains 6 servings of fruits and vegetables. Gluten-free, 100% natural, non-dairy and has 10g of protein.

Taylors of Harrogate Tea (4) Green Tea/Jasmine, Green Tea/Lemon, Organic Peppermint & Organic Chamomile. YUM They all sound wonderful!

Creme Company Women’s Shave Cream ~ (tube) Smells like trees, I don’t like it. My BF just says it smells like soap and promptly took it from me. LOL He likes creams rather than can stuff.

Last, but not least Dream Water ~ Snoozeberry (blueberry/pomegranate). It tasted really good, but I didn’t notice relaxation or sleepiness. I’d like to try it again.

I almost forgot. I also gota $50 gift card to Zeel.com & $50 to iTrain mobile workouts.

I may not have liked everything in my box, but I was still super happy with it and can’t wait for next month!

Disclosure:

I paid for this box on my own.  All opinions expressed about the products and company are my 100% mine.

Glossybox ~ September

  • Posted on September 29, 2012 at 4:30 AM

This is my third GLOSSYBOX and I’m still loving them! Everything I’ve tried so far I’ve loved, even if I had reservations about the product. Before I explode, let’s look in this month’s box! 🙂

September’s box is dubbed “Fall Forward” Here is what my card reads:

“From the fall fashion runways to the season’s latest beauty trends, GLOSSYBOX offers a forward look into new products, formulas, technologies and colors of the season. This month we celebrate beauty’s breakthrough products and offer a mixed set of forward thinking essentials”

Now here’s what’s inside…

GKHAIR ~ (stands for Global Keratin)

Moisturizing Shampoo/Conditioner. Contains Juvexin. Yeah I’m going to have to Google that one. The shampoo nourishes with plant extracts, smooths, purifies and moisturizes the scalp and hair.  The conditioner smooths, revitalizes an leaves hair radiant. So sayith the card. It smells clean, almost, but not quite, like baby powder.

Full-sized 10.0 oz retails for $20 each.

KOH GEN DO ~ Cleansing Spa Water

Made with mineral-rich Japanese hot spring water. It’s infused with six essential herbs (Rosemary leaf, Lavender extract, Sage leaf extract, Artemisia Princeps Leaf extract, Perilla Ocymoides Leaf extract and Ginger root extract) to protect and nurture the skin. It’s supposed to gently remove makeup and your skins toughest impurities.

Those herbs don’t seem appealing to me so I had to break the seal and sniff it right away. (not currently at home) I am happy to report it doesn’t have much of a smell! YAY

The bottle is 3.38 oz and it’s actually a “full-sized” bottle. Retails for $13. NOT BAD!

KRYOLAN for GLOSSYBOX ~ Moisture Rich Lipstick in GLOSSY Pink

Long lasting lipstick enriched with Vitamin E to stimulate and hydrate lips. “The perfect pop of GLOSSY pink compliments all skin tones and lifestyles.”  It actually looks OK on  me. It just looks like I have some color to my usually bare lips. If I remember, when I get home I’ll take a picture. For now you’ll just see the tube. BTW it’s darker than shown.

Retails for $14.

MISSHA ~ M Perfect Cover BB Cream SPF 42

Hailing from Korea, this Blemish Balm, also known as the uber popular “BB Cream” is a multi-tasking powerhouse for the face. It provides light coverage, soothes, protects and moisturizes. Suitable for all skin types.  We’ll have to see. I have sensitive skin and all of the BB creams I’ve tried up until know have made me break out like a pizza-faced teen. 🙁

I’m not too happy about the smell. (I’m big on scents, if you haven’t noticed.) The texture is like other balms and the coverage is the same. It blended nicely though. I’ll just have to wait and see if I break out.

Retails for $29.99

Once again I’m super happy with my GLOSSYBOX and can’t wait until next month! To get yours go to www.GLOSSYBOX.com. $21 for a Monthly Subscription

Disclosure:

I bought this box on my own.  All opinions expressed about the products and company are my own as well.

Beauty Box Five ~ September

  • Posted on September 24, 2012 at 12:18 AM

This is my second BeautyBox 5. Next months will determine if I keep it or not. It’s not looking good. Here is what I got. BTW aside from the Lip Shine (shiney gold tube) everything is tiny this month.

Nume Hydro Punch. It’s a hydrating shampoo. It irritates me when I get a shampoo sample, but not conditioner. I have to use BOTH.

Goat Haus Dairy Bath Melt. Meh, I don’t take many baths. Maybe this will give me an excuse.

H.Wood.Beauty Lip Shine. I don’t like the color. (Poppy) I might take a different picture so you can see it. I doubt will suit me as well.

Silk Naturals Eyeshadow (black lid) (Posh) I like the color. It’s a shimmery light brown. It will blend well.

Nastassja Skin Enzyme Facial Peel. Umm ouch. I don’t like those. LOL I’m glad because the full size is $45!!!

So that was what I got. If you want a box of your own to try click Sign up for Beauty Box 5!

Sample Society ~ September

  • Posted on September 23, 2012 at 11:58 PM

I am sooo happy with this month’s box! I’m also kind of bummed. WHY? Well I love the products in this box, but full sizes are HELLA expensive for my budget. (You’ll see) I might just have to use the gift code they give us toward a purchase. $15 off of $50 or more. Oh and I can totally rack up 50 fast! GAH!

Here is what I got.

CellCeuticals extremely gentle skin cleanser. YAY I have sensitive skin. BOO full size is $35

Borghese B Gloss. Its a little more brown than in the picture. I love it! Creamy, not sticky and the color actually suites me. 🙂 Full size is $18.50

Stila Smudge Crayon. I’m not full on make-up girl. I like this pen, but I may trade or give it to someone else.  Full size $22

Diptyque Fragrance “Philoskos” I it’s like something I’ve never REALLY smelled before. FIG. I don’t know if I like it or not. I keep sniffing it trying to decide. I’m going to TRY not to like it. Full size is $150!!!!!!! Those exclamations might as well be zeros! 🙁

Ahava Purifying Mud Mask. It smells so clean. It’s to clear so maybe that’s why. I’m hoping it’s not to harsh like most muds are for me. Full size is $30.

All give all my boxes 3 months to wow me.  This one totally wows me so I’m going to keep going for now. 🙂 I also love love love that when you sign up with Beauty Bar (the company that produces this box, along with Allure magazine) to get your box I don’t get points or rewards. Rather they give $30 to many different charities. I chose Best Friends Animal Sanctuary. How cool is that!  To start getting your boxes click on this:

Birch Box ~ September

  • Posted on September 23, 2012 at 11:19 PM

This month’s Birch Box is my second one.  Here is what I got.

boscia soothing cleansing cream.

Benefit Cosmetics The POREfessional. This will be my first time using Benefit so I’m kind of excited. I also have JUMBO pores. 🙁

Color Club Birchbox Custom Polish. It’s hard to see it, but it’s blah. It is this dark steel-grey blue creme color.  It’s not ugly but  it’s not edgy enough to be pretty.  I’m thinking this will be a toes only polish.

Kate Spade New York “Twirl” perfume. I really like it. It’s fresh and clean smelling, not overly flowery.

“twishband” pink (ick) Hair Tie. I have too much hair to even consider trying it. It would surely break!

The “tili” Bags is an extra. I don’t care what it’s called or that it has designs, IT’S. A. BAGGIE. ’nuff said.

So there you go, Birch Box for September.  Not too wowed, but not going to jump right in and try everything right away. If the meh factor continues I will cancel, but for now I’ll keep getting them. OH I almost forgot… The list card gave an address for musician Tristan Prettyman downloads. Free music! I am an MP3 junky! If I don’t like it, at least I didn’t pay for it.

Bulu Box ~ September

  • Posted on September 23, 2012 at 10:45 PM

I got my boxes last week, but didn’t have a computer to post. This month I’m not too impressed with my box, but I’m still happy with Bulu. Here is what I got. BTW sorry for the crappy picture. I used my Instagram with the assistance of 3 cats. They kept bumping me causing the picture to come out shaky. I finally gave up and settled for this one.

The bottle is Athlete Octane Liquid Endurance Shot ~ Astronaut Orange. I don’t like orange flavor so I’ll pass this on to someone else.

Rev Honey (the tube) honey snack for energy. Peach flavor. For not being  big peach fan (yes, I’m picky) it tasted really good. I think it’s too sweet to suck down all at once, but I’m willing to take it to work and see if it gives me enough energy for my 12 hour shift. (It didn’t)

A full bottle (60) Swanson Razberri-K. Since raspberry Ketones are the newest “thing” I’m not surprised to get this. You’re supposed to take two a day with water to curb hunger. I’m on the fence about trying it. I’m going to have to research more.

Eight Ball Neuro Edge. “Gently” mix with water. Hummm ok. Another energy sample. They read my mind. I can ALWAYS use energy boosts.

Hawaiian Coconut Energy ~ wooo more energy samples. I LOVE coconut anything. I’m nervous about trying it though. The first box I got had Green Tea and it make my throat swell. Not shut, but it was still uncomfortable.

So there you go. My Bulu Box for September.

PopSugar Must Have Bag ~ August 2012

  • Posted on September 1, 2012 at 1:59 AM

Introducing the POPSUGAR Must Have Bag! It’s a monthly subscription, filled with all of your favorite things. Every month, PopSugar editors will curate an exciting bag full of fun, must-have products from fashion, beauty, home decor, fitness, and more. Their customized collection will include tried-and-true classics, celebrity favorites, and brands you’ve yet to discover. Unlike most subscriptions, these are all full-sized products! Total retail is around $100. Subscriptions are $35 a month (free shipping) with other options (3mo, 6mo, and yearly).

I missed out on the first ever bag last month, but as soon as I saw what I missed I whined until Steve let me join ANOTHER subscription service. 🙂

I got my box today and holy cow it was huge! Here is what was inside.

Gotta love the cutesy tissue! Reminds me of shopping at high-end stores where they wrap your stuff in paper before they stuff it into your fancy bag. LOVE IT! I love anything that makes me feel special. Maybe spoiled is a better term. hehehe

One one hand I couldn’t wait to rip the tissue open. On the other, I didn’t want to! There is always next month to look forward to. Yes, next month. I am keeping this subscription for now.

Again… can’t get enough of the cutesy tissue! Stickers too! *thud* I am so easily amused/entertained it’s pathetic. Sad to say I tried not to rip the sticker, but I wasn’t successful. ok ok, enough of the paper talk. Here is what was inside all of the cuteness.

A PopPhysique butt toning DVD. I’m considering taking this to work! It’s a combo of Pilates, Yoga, and Micropulsing. I’M SCARED! lol Next is a box of 4 Govino unbreakable (we’ll see about that.) wine glasses. PERFECT because if I survive the DVD I’m going to need a glass of wine!  Value: $13.99

Tucked between the DVD and glasses is a bag of Bear Naked Granola (listed as an extra). I think you’re supposed to eat it before working out because it says it gives you energy. Value: $0 .45

Next to the Granola  is a bundle of coasters with a coupon (another extra) for the Benziger Family Winery. I forgot to look at the value before I put it back in the box.

The postcard is from Postagram Prints. It’s Instagram postcards! We get to try out 10 free prints. WOOHOO! (yet another extra) Value: $10.00

Under the postcard in more tissue is ANOTHER extra, Pretzel Crisps. I love these things! I eat them with Laughing Cow cheese like there is no tomorrow! Highly addictive and filling. Perfect low cal snack. You get 14 for 110 calories. I can’t eat 14 at once. *burp* Value $2.99 – 399

On top of the pretzels was the coveted Baggu bag. YAY!  This bag is tucked (as you can see) into a little pouch. Oh and it’s purple! My FAVORITE color.  Value: $9.00

This was wrapped in the package I was squeeing about earlier. Tatcha Blotting Papers. These Japanese papers absorb oil without stripping makeup. I’ve never tried blotting papers. I’m not sure I want to try these either. The handmade packaging is too darling to rip open. OH and according to the little booklet that tells you about your treats, “the delicate little blotting papers are flecked with bits of gold”. WOW Value: $12.99

Next we have two little bottles in a black netting bag from Sprout Skincare. One bottle is tea tree oil & rosewater extract cleanser. The other bottle is an exfoliant made with “Maine sea salt, oats & almonds”. I can’t wait to try them! I love tea tree oil! Value: $10 each

The last thing in my box was an Alora diffuser. The scent is Isola. The top note is Gardenia. Value: $60

So far without actually trying all of the products, I am super impressed with this box, I mean bag. 🙂 Total value is $113.98. It’s certainly worth the $35 I paid.

I have been having so much fun with all the subscription boxes I’ve been getting. It’s only been a month too! I’m so excited for what September is going to bring! I’m loving learning about new products and companies I’d never look twice at. Nothing will go to waste either. What I don’t like I can trade with other subscribers or give as gifts. If you’re even the slightest bit interested in PopSugar click here. I’ll be honest. If you end up signing up via my link I get points toward free bags. You can do the same.  ~D

3.1 oz full-sized product retails for $22

Ellis Faas ~ Ellis Faas Lips.

Ok I got this in my Beauty Box 5 and LOVE it. This one, not so much. This one is a glaze and the shade is HORRIBLE! I seriously don’t know a soul that would wear it. It’s oompa loompa orange! I don’t think I could give this away if I paid someone to take it.

0.095 oz retails for $35  (that’s a lot to spend on Halloween make-up)

ILLAMASQUA ~ Nail Varnish “Glory” I am sooooooo happy with this shade and can’t wait to try it. My University’s colors are Maroon and Silver. PERFECT! 🙂 Griz season starts tomorrow! GO GRIZ!

OLE HENRIKSEN ~ Truth Serum !!! High powered vitamin C to smooth out lines and wrinkles.

1.13 oz Full Size retails for $20

Super excited to try everything out. I’ll update this post when I do.

Beauty Box 5 ~ August 2012

  • Posted on August 22, 2012 at 9:14 PM

YAY I got my first Beauty Box 5 today. I only signed up two weeks ago. (I opted for the quarterly plan ~ $30)  If that’s how they’re going to be, this is going to be a beautiful relationship! OH and I’m beyond happy with my box. Take a peek!

Ellis Faas Milky Lips shade L206 ~ The FULL-SIZED bullet shaped pen is impressive. You need patience though. It took A LOT of twisting before my gloss appeared. When it did I tried it out and it was creamy, not sticky and the shade actually looked nice. I never would have chosen it otherwise. I never would have tried this brand either. The glaze retails for $35! (there was a coupon for %15 your order if you so choose to purchase more of this product.)

H2O Plus ~ Marine, botanical-infused eye cream to reduce the look of fine lines. YES I need this product! I will be trying it before work tomorrow night. Retail $32

Ferro Cosmetics ~ Sheer Crystal Veil. This is a powder to “dust” over or under foundation for a dewy soft finish. You can also mix it with moisturizer. Not really my thing, but it looks cute. (Also came with a discount coupon.)

These last two items I know for a fact I will use!

Blum Naturals ~ Make up Remover Towelettes. I got 3.  A 10 pk retails for 3.99

Freeman ~ Anti-Stress Mask x 2. A single one retails for 3.99.

So for my first BB5 I am impressed and excited to try ALL the items from my pretty little blue box.

Influenster ~ Latina Vox Box

  • Posted on August 22, 2012 at 8:32 PM

Almost 2 months ago I signed up with a program called Influenster. From their website:

Apply to our trendsetter community and use your influence to qualify for complimentary PRODUCT SHIPMENTS, REWARDS & DEALS fit for your lifestyle. The more active you are, the more perks you get!

I love snail mail boxes, and I am always doing a survey for someone, so I figured why not. I imagined it would be months until I was chosen for a “VoxBox”, but I wasn’t brooding about it. Most programs ask for 100% participation on several occasions before you are up for perks. To my surprise I was chosen a few weeks ago for a Latina VoxBox. It arrived a few days ago. 🙂

I considered doing a video of my box, but I chickened out. I also just returned from a 2week vacation and I’m beat. So for now I’m just going to show you what goodies I got and in a week or so I’ll review the products either in this same format or *gulp* a video.

My Latina Beauty VoxBox contains the following:

VEET Ready to Use Wax Strips, Leg & Body $9.99 (Scared to death to try this, but I’ll be a trooper!)

NYC New York Color Liquid Lipshine. $ 2.49

NEW Bath and Body Works Shea-Enriched Signature Collection Shower Gel. $5

Hawaiian Tropic Silk Hydration Lotion Sunscreen. $7.99

Always Radiant Infinity Pads. $6.99 (Already use them and love them!)

Always Tampax Radiant Collection sampler (tampons, pads, liners in a cute wristlet)

Sooo roughly $32.46 worth of products.

I’ll update this post when I try EVERYTHING out. 🙂 BTW Disclosure: The product(s) featured in this post were provided for editorial consideration. Receipt of this product did not guarantee review and all opinions are my own.
