Now that I’m pretty much hitting my 50% savings mark, I’m going to start shooting for 75%. Since double couponing doesn’t really exist here (If you know who does PLEASE let me know) we’ll see if I can do it.

Today I got a coupon book from Home Made Simple. In it contained $35 worth of P&G Coupons from brands like Cascade, Bounce, Bounty, Swiffer and more. Sign up is —> FREE <— so get moving before they run out.

My freebies are FINALLY starting to arrive. I got a Carefree liner sample with coupon and a Zantac sample with two high value coupons.

Here are some newer pictures of my binder. My stockpile of coupons has come a long way!

The little black binder ( small baseball card holder) is what I take with me when I shop. It fits nicely in my purse. I was using a mini accordion folder, but It was a pain in the arse. I would drop handfuls of coupons when I tried to pull just one out. The smaller binder is more organized and makes it easier to view and pull out what I need. I load it up before I go shopping, then I come home, I refile the coupons from the mini into the mega binder. 😛

The purple binder was purchased at Wal-Mart for $10. The baseball card inserts at Target, 30 for 4.98. (I got two) The mini baseball card holder was purchased at Wal-Mart for 4.98. Kind of pricey, but well worth it!

What is all the hoopla about SwagBucks?

I remember signing up about a year ago. I didn’t like having more than one toolbar so I uninstalled it. I soon forgot all bout it. I saw a few friends post about their goodies on Facebook, but I shrugged it off. I can no longer ignore it! Now I’m on the verge of cashing in for my first gift card. I’M HOOKED! On what? I don’t know, but I like it.

SwagBucks is a search engine like Google (It’s actually powered by Google and Ask.com), but you get rewarded for using it.  Sign up is… FREE!  Every time you search with SwagBucks, you have a chance to win points which they call… uh… SwagBucks.  Point amounts vary from roughly 1-50 points. If you want to rack up points quicker then make it your homepage and/or download the toolbar. I personally like the toolbar better.

Other ways to maximize Swag:

Fill out surveys, watch clips on their website.

Trade in old cellphones and IPods.

Refer friends.

Be sure to follow  SwagBucks on their blog, Facebook, Twitter.  That is probably the easiest way to snag some SwagBucks.

There are two things that I love more than coupons: books and music. Cats rank even higher, but that’s another blog. 🙂

I got a NOOK Color for Christmas and so far I haven’t had to buy more than a few books. Every week they have “Free Fridays” where they offer NOOK readers a free book. If you haven’t already, make sure you “Like” them on Facebook.

This week’s book has really grabbed my attention so I thought I’d share it with you. Why? Well I have a thing for Southern writers. This is what the website has to say about this weeks selection.

In today’s Free Fridays selection, The Four Corners of the Sky, Michael Malone is at the top of his game. One of the most beloved contemporary Southern writers, Malone is a master with words and plot who weaves enchanting tales that keep you riveted from start to finish. I like listening to music while reading, actually while doing ANYTHING. Amazon is a great place to get free songs on a daily basis.

Today’s freebie is “Hang You Up” by Yellowcard from their latest album When You’re Through Thinking, Say Yes. It’s a nice little tune that got my feet tapping to the beat. I’m not a huge fan of Yellowcard, but I might have to sample the rest of their album based on how much I enjoy this song.

The song of the day may be different for you. Amazon really pays attention to your searches and is great at giving you recommendations based on your likes. 75% of the time I end up buying the cd from the featured artist, or putting them on a wishlist for later. One thing I’ve learned is NEVER buy the cd right away. Every time I do, shortly after they offer for $5 or less. Grrrrr!

Aside from itunes (I’m anti anything “i”) does anyone know of other good sites to get free music legally?

I love magazines more than most sane people. On my other blog I went on and on about it.

I’ll spare you the details and just point out the highlight. In the June issue of Glamour (should be on shelves now) there were three fabulous Target Coupons and two samples. A Carefree pantyliner and Garnier Moisture Rescue, both with coupons.

Before you buy a copy from the news stand you might want to flip through it to make sure you get them. Sometimes subscribers get different content.

When I first started getting serious about couponing I didn’t think I would save that much due to lack of coupons in my area. Au contraire Mon Cheri! I am losing track of the places I can score coupons. So far the internet has been good to me.

Today I signed up for Kraft’s Good Eating Good Living newsletter. I’m not sure what the newsletter contains, but the website is packed with info! There are links for budget minded recipes, (not that I cook) samples, recipe exchanges, holiday ideas, how-to links and much more.
